About
atelier eem was founded in 2009 at the meeting point of landscape, architecture and design, and of German, Italian and French cultures.
We pay close attention to the many needs (and desires!) that drive the transformation of our surroundings. Our answers always start from an overall view of a territory at all its scales (house, garden, neighbourhood, landscape…) and from the particularities of the people who live there.
Our approach is to interweave knowledge and sensibility in every project.
We favour bio-based, minimally processed materials – timber, cork, wood fibre, cellulose wadding, lime, fired clay – and reuse: keeping, transforming and rehabilitating what already exists rather than demolishing it. Every project also anticipates tomorrow’s climate: orientation and solar gain, summer comfort, water management, living soils and climate-adapted planting.
